The Fur Kids

This is Lenore, we got her from a guy we knew through mutual friends who lived in an apartment and couldn't keep all the kittens a mama cat had outside his place. After she was old enough, we went to pick her up and fell in love. That was somewhere around December of 09. She's been fixed, but is still the most spazzy cat I've owned, and sneaky as a fox! Not to mention quite gassy.

This is Heidi, the dachshund chihuahua mix (chiweenie). My mother found her near her work place, crossing a busy highway but wasn't able to catch her for a week or two. When she finally did, we volunteered to take her. She has the shakes of a chihuahua and the potty training stubbornness of a dachshund, but she's extremely loyal and loving and has a look that melts your heart.

Last of our current fur kids is Zeus, the ferret. We originally bought him and his sister early March 2010 at a pet store. Zeus and Hera, the adorable tag team of mischief.  Always escaping their cage somehow, dumping their food out and torturing the cat during out of the cage time. Hera was the less rowdy of the two, smaller and able to get into and out of everything. Sadly, we found her one day in November 2010 laying there barely breathing and took her for a week long vet stay that didn't help her much. She was dehydrated and they weren't sure what was wrong but the meds weren't helping, so we had them put her to sleep.  We still miss her, and Zeus is lonely in his cage, but she's in a good place now where Zeus won't tip her food bowl.
