Let It Snow..Then Kill It With Fire!

It started snowing last night and as soon as I looked out and saw the white blanket over everything outside, I got instant cabin fever.  I was fidgeting and foot bobbing and let a great sigh every few minutes..my husband was deep into his xbox360 game and didn't feel the impending doom as I did.  See, last time it snowed, (January 9 and on and off for the next few days) it was predicted it would be a pretty big deal.  So in order for Robbie to still work, and without leaving me alone for who knows how long, we both went to Atlanta, where he works, that Sunday (he works Sunday through Wednesday) and it was scheduled to start later that night.  The plan was for us to both stay at his work place for his shift and then go to the Hilton Garden Inn (his job paid for the room. Awesome) less than half a mile up the road when he got off a bit early around 10pm. 8 o clock rolls around..no snow yet! Later on we start seeing it through the windows but despite the amount that looks to be coming down, we still figure we can drive around no hassle..when we leave around 9:30pm..in our brand new sporty little Nissan 370z, entirely not meant for the snow, one of the roads to our hotel is blocked.  No problem, lets go the other wa-..oh nice steep uphill climb. Try anyway? FAIL. We have to actually slide ourselves to face the right way. Ha. Back to the office, where he decided to go on and work a double, and his nice coworker had her husband with the 4 wheel drive drop us off at the hotel on their way home.
We ended up being stuck in that hotel room for 4 days. We left Friday morning. Never have I experienced such boredom.  We ate in the downstairs dining room, each meal. Bought snacks and drinks at their little pavillian thing, drank at the bar twice, and our last actual day was not a work day for him, and apparently the hotel shuttle was back up running so we got ourselves shuttled to the nearby awesome mall.  You have never seen two happier people. Ate at Maggianos, window shopped, ate ice cream, sat in the fancy chair that massaged our feet, calves, hands, arms, head, bum, and everything else (almost!). Robbie actually found a way to reset it so you didn't have to ask the store employees permission to turn the chair on for you and time it..so instead of 5 minutes we both got about 30 each. My husband is a genius, don't know if the employees didn't see or didn't care. Best. Day. Ever.
When the roads were finally good and we headed home, we visited our friend who still had a nice backyard full of beautiful thick ice on a downward slope..so our shenanigans group had a nice session of ice sledding..my and Robbie's first sledding experience. It was ironic that the thing that kept me so locked up was now just what I needed. I'd love to do that again one day..but not today. Thankfully last nights ice is melting quickly and if I want to leave this place, I can. I think I've had enough snow for this year..its been about the 4th one here since December. Most of the time we rarely get one in a years time. I just wish it would stay Autumn all year..
