On Jobs and Getting Needled

I got my lip pierced for the second time somewhere in the middle of January.  The first time i had it done in about October of 09 I was only able to keep it for about a month, month and a half due to a certain restaraunt that had just hired me  as a waitress and wouldn't let me even wear the clear plastic retainer.  I took it out for my first shift and a few hours later, the skin had already grown in too much to put it back.  Needless to say, I was pissed when I figured out what a crock the whole management staff was and quit after about two weeks.  It was a second job, so it wasn't that needed or important. I was newly engaged to Robbie at the time and with my main job (cashier at a fast food restaraunt, yes also cruddy and few hours but not much to choose from here at the time) and his good job in telecommunications we were fine without it.  I was even more pissed a little less than a year later I had dinner with Robbie and my paternal grandparents at this same restaraunt and our host had a lip piercing, not clear plastic but an actual obvious metal stud in, as well as our server with a nose stud.  I then figured out life wasn't fair..well, unless you were a thinner pretty girl haha.
I finally got it redone, after Robbie got a nice raise that was equal to or more just in the extra money that I'd made where I worked, figuring in all the gas money and such, and quit my cashier/drive through job I'd been at for a little over a year and a half. This time, the piercing grew a nice sized keloid I'm still nursing a bit. Thank goodness for google and the internet..did you know a rubbing of a mix of garlic and olive oil will reduce and get rid of those things? Its certainly almost gotten rid of mine, after swabbing it on the inside and out of my affected lip area..and boy, is it romantic and tantilizing to have a face that smells like fresh garlic! May start wearing it as a perfume after this thing is gone! Heheh.
Anyhow, since I'm planning on college classes in the hopefully near future and no job I can keep this piercing awhile this time, I've wanted one since I was about 13 and it fits me quite well, if I do say so myself.  The old fashioned type don't take me too seriously, but those who matter don't see me as a freak of nature (for that reason at least!).  I'm glad my parents are accepting..I mean they weren't they type to let me get all tatted and pierced up when I was a teenager, but they know I'm past the stage of doing things for attention and just doing things I want for myself. I'm not just going to the crackhouse and poking used syringes through my face..it'd sure save me the money up front though..hmm.
